Ethan Allen thrifty find…

Hi everyone! I did survive the marathon weekend of my parents’ 50th Anniversary reception, and worship services all day yesterday, so now I can finally start visiting all of you who left such lovely comments on my Spode Woodland post last week!

Today, I wanted to share my Salvation Army find from a couple weeks ago. We were actually looking for old iron garden furniture to repurpose, but Luis saw this Ethan Allen headboard and knew it would be perfect for Cristian’s room. It was only $8!! We could not pass it up!! It was in perfect condition with not even a scratch and coordinates perfectly with the vintage furniture he already has.

I have never shown Cristian’s room because it’s a mess!! We finally transitioned from the Winnie the Pooh nursery, but have yet to really do anything else in there. He likes airplanes, so I kind of had that in mind. I still need to paint, but at least we have a good start.

We knew he would love this bookcase headboard because he can put all the things he likes in there. He was very excited to have his own alarm clock.

Luis is a pilot, so it would only be natural for Cristian to love airplanes too!

You just never know what you might find! Now I really need to pick some paint colors and get this room going! I think it’s going to be a light, dusty blue. But then, I’ve been looking at paint colors for months and have yet to decide.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I’ll be participating in Nifty Thrifty Tuesdaysover at Coastal Charm so be sure to go by there!!

Anita

I love old Ethan Allen pieces. And looks like the bookcase comes in handy. Cute photos of your husband and son in the cockpit.

My heart always goes "pitter pat" when I find a great piece of E. Allen furniture. Your sons room is so cute–my son's never had a theme, unless 'messy boy' counts… I noticed your new pic, too, so pretty! Hugs, Kim

I can't believe you found that in such great condition Anita! I never have that kind of luck! It really is a darling space and that is so perfect for him to have little spots for his special treasures. Boys have lots of treasures I have discovered! 🙂 Mine likes to bring home interesting pieces of bark from the school playground…go figure!

I have never heard of Ethan Allen – you learn lots in Blogland. But, I did have a headboard with a shelf, growing up, and they are the best. Well done.

What an adorable room for a terrific son. The head board is wonderful. The airplane theme is really cute and the bedding is so nice and the quilting precious. I know your parents and dear ones enjoyed your hospitality….thank you for sharing when you have been so busy!

Do you still have lots of snow? Here the temps are fluctuating from single digits to the 30's …but the winds are strong.

Have fun decorating your little boy's room- i remember having a bookcase headboard at one time and loved all the little spaces to put my collections. My hubby is also a pilot and we had planned to decorate with airplanes if we had a little boy.
