Hi everyone!! I hope you are enjoying beautiful weather wherever you are. It is especially wonderful here in western NC as the leaves are really starting to come to life.
I wanted to share some fall decor on my dining table. I have been inspired by Kim at Savvy Southern Style to bring out some antlers and use more creamy colors. I’m not sure what happened, but something clicked for me and although I always love dark, warm color especially for Fall, I put together this lighter tabletop and I am loving it.
One thing that I think makes this whole thing work, are the drop cloth window treatments I “borrowed” from Kim’s sister, Kelly, at The Essence of Home. I love the texture of these and how the light streams through. I did not bleach these because I wanted more of the natural color.
The runner is a very simple one I made from matelasse fabric I had. I actually made three of them and have one on the piano, and one on the buffet.
I used a silver tray filled with gourds, pumpkins and antlers. I could have done all white, but I have to have a little color!
I filled my Poole “Lancaster Rose” silver wine bucket with more weeds and assorted greenery from outside.
I’ve mentioned it before, but this is the table I made from wormy chestnut boards that came off my great grandmother’s guest house here. I designed the base and had a local craftsman make it for me. The inspiration was from an old issue of Country Living Magazine. I do love this table, and it is so special to me not only because I made it but because of the connection to my family.
We have used different variations of chairs from ladder backs, to a bench, to parson’s chairs, and now the Duncan Phyfe, which I love. I do think drop cloth slip covers would be fabulous on the leather parson’s chairs as an option.
I hope you are not in shock seeing me using creamy whites and silver for Autumn! I really love this look and actually have a tablescape I’ll be showing soon with Noritake “Condoro” in this setting.

That is just absolute beautiful perfection!
Nothing better than silver, antlers and texture. Looks great and love your table. Thanks for the reference to me and my sister. I bet the leaves are looking grand there.
Hi Anita! Everything is looking fabulous! Kim and her sis are very inspiring! You did great at incorporating those elements in your lovely home.
It looks so beautiful Anita! I love the textures and colors along with the silver. Your table is a beautiful keepsake for sure! Blessings, Pamela
It must be gorgeous right now in your neck of the woods, Anita! I do love your table like this. I am SUCH a color person it is HARD for me to do white or cream. It looks so pretty though and I love the pops of color in the gourds. Where did you get your antlers??? I have been wanting some but they are expensive to buy. XO, Pinky
Just elegant and gorgeous Anita. I love cream tones and silver. The wood table is also a star! The green dishes peaking out from your curio are so pretty too. Looking forward to your table top you have planned. Best wishes and thank you for sharing your Harvest home!!!The October light is my favorite.
Simply gorgeous — love the natural elements with your silver 🙂
Blessings!

Gorgeous! Wow, what a tablescape and that table is beautiful without the story but the connection just makes it all the more special. Understated elegance at its finest. Patty

Anita, what a great tablescape!! The use of the lighter colors still works wonderfully with your decor! Love the drapes and the great variety of textures! Beautifully done!
Anita, I really love this tablescape and now I really wish I could get my hands on some antlers too! Everything looks wonderful.
I have posted a pink post to honour a very dear friend of mine who passed away this week from breast cancer. This October's pink ribbon campaign is now even more important and poignant than ever before. I hope you will come visit.
Best wishes,

Gorgeous!! The matelasse runner looks wonderful on your table and of course, I love your silver pieces and the antlers, wild flowers and weeds. To me, nothing is more beautiful than a rustic/casual arrangement in a 'formal' silver piece. Perfect!
This is very special, Anita! Your taste level, sensitivity, and innate artistry show in everything you do. I always love hearing how you weave family history into your stunning tablescapes.
Beautiful, elegant, and so lovely. The table is spectacular…as is everything that you have done.(-:
GORGEOUS table scape and the table is beautiful, love the story behind it.
Beautiful table….love the centerpiece with the wildflowers and gourds, and the runner is beautiful!
I always like the way you dress your table…you have a knack for it 🙂
It is just as beautiful as can be! I am currently considering how to dress my new dining room table, and if I could figure out how to move a photo from a blog to pinterest, I would be pinning this for inspiration.
It's so hard to be so inept.
Your table is wonderful. So beautiful with special meaning behind it. So happy that you chose to join Seasonal Sundays.

Love the tablescape and the table! You have given me an idea. I have a beautiful old matelasse bedspread that has seen better days, I think I will cut it up and make a runner!
Oh my goodness how pretty! Love it! My husband would love for me to do that with the antlers. And…I have quite a few around this hunter's home!
This is so pretty Anita. I too, love the history of your table. What a unique and well loved piece. Your curtains and table runner are beautiful!
