Happy New Year everyone! I wanted to share a little Christmas decor in the bedroom before the season is gone. This room has not had any attention in a while, so I took some of the leftover Christmas decor I had and used it in here. It really made the space so warm and cozy.
Just about everything in here is handed down and very old. The antique spool bed is from around 1860 and I have added a quilt made by my great grandmother.
This antique mahogany dresser is missing its mirror, but it goes really nicely in front of this window.
Vintage lamp and candle holders sit on a handmade mahogany end table…one of a pair.
This “new” box I made from a newel post out of the old house
I caught this little elf putting his own toys into these stockings:-)
I took an old piece of trim and attached these leftover cabinet pulls to hold stockings. It will be great for hanging other things later.
This was an old tree top that I placed into a blue and white pot and covered with glass ornaments I bought in Germany…
I draped greenery over the windows…
Well that’s it for the bedroom. I just used things I already had to make it a little bit cozier for Christmas.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope the new year brings all of you the very best:-)

I’ll be joining:
Beautiful bedroom, Anita. I love the bed, that is a rare find today. And the draping over the windows. You have the most beautiful collection of vintage ornaments. Happy New Year to you and yours, many blessings in the New Year. xo
Barbara, thank you so much:-) Happy New Year to you also!
Anita, I just listened to you sing O Holy night, I'm amazed at your beautiful voice. You sing so lovely, your voice just flows effortlessly. That's my favorite Christmas song and you made it sound like sheer perfection.
Oh Audrey, thank you so very much:-)
Anita- The bedroom looks absolutely beautiful. I just love it…it is just YOU. God bless you and your hubby and children in the upcoming year. I thought of your song so many times over the holidays- it really, really touched my heart- xo Diana
Diana, thank you so much for sharing it too! That is all I ever hope to do..somehow be a blessing to someone:-)
Your bedroom looks so pretty and cozy. That is one room that I don't decorate for Christmas. I guess we only sleep there so don't enjoy the seasonal decor but I really like this idea and maybe, just maybe, next year I'll get inspired to put a little tree in there. 🙂 Happy New Year blessings to you and the family.
Pamela, I wish we could just sleep here! My computer is in the big armoire, and on side you cannot see is Luis' recording studio, not kidding. We are blessed it's a large room because we have no extra space in this very small house. I usually have two sewing machines on the drop leaf table, but I removed them so we could at least enjoy Christmas without all the mess. It was really dreary and I hated having to sit there at the computer, so it really made difference for us. Happy New Year to you also!!
That amazing bed is such a wonderful centerpiece for your beautiful bedroom. Love that you have your GGrandmothers quilt.
Anita:
Your bedroom is lovely. It's cozy and charming. I'm so glad you shared it with us.

It is so nice to see someone still doing Christmas decor posts! I never get tired of them and since we are still in the Christmas season, they are entirely appropriate! Your bedroom looks so cheerful and festive. The quilt adds the perfect charming touch!

As gorgeous as ever and your new box… STUNNING!!! Your elf is pretty cute too!
Love that box-so versatile. Everything looks just comfy and beautiful.
Love your holiday master bedroom decor. It is right out of a beautiful Christmas movie, Holiday Inn, comes to mind. I always appreciate you posting about Christmas during the 12 Days of Christmas. Our tree(artificial, my allergy-asthma issues) and all decor still in place.I admired your bedroom post-pictures from FB, the candle box is beautiful, the homemade quilt and furniture are treasures Anita, thank you for sharing and our wishes for a Blessed New Year.
LOVE this bedroom…….I have always loved a spool bed, this one is awesome as is the quilt on it….so warm & cozy…..your home is beautiful, and has that look of comfort, like you can really live in it….not untouchable!
What a pretty bedroom! But then every room you show us is. I love those pillowcases with the large rose on them. Are they vintage? I have tried to guess the object on your FB post but can't figure it out. I'll have to check back when you reveal the answer.
Anita, I am so impressed with your festive bedroom all decorated for Christmas.

Hi Anita,
What a lovely room. It truly does look very cozy. Sad that Christmas comes and goes by too fast. I love decorating for it and it is always a sad time when it's time to take it down 🙁 Wishing you a wonderful New Year.

Greetings Anita,
I just popped over to your facebook to hear you sing "O Holy Night"…WoW! It is my favourite Christmas carol and you sing it so beautifully. I got goosebumps as you were singing. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I enjoy your blog, too. And, this post on your holiday decor in the bedroom was fun. I always enjoy sharing the cheer throughout the house. All the very best of health and happiness in the new year to you and your loved ones.

Beautiful room, so warm and inviting! It was nice seeing your bed in front of windows. In my guest bedroom I too have to place either the bed or dresser in front of a double window. Have always wondered if it looked ok, though there is really no other option … Yours looks wonderful! Visiting from Savvy Southern Style and following too!
Blessings,
Cindy
Gorgeous bedroom and that bed is beautiful.
