Yep. Hot pink, and I could not be more excited about it! It all started with this sweet pillow I found that my grandmother had made.
Then I added a runner to the buffet made from the inherited Chinese silk my mom gave me. I cannot wait for these pear branches to bloom, but I like them even like this.
Family photos and books keep everything vintage.
You cannot see it because of the reflection, but the chalk drawing hanging on the window is an original done by artist Louis Rowell in 1916 when he was here in the NC mountains. It really works with the pinks, and I just love it. It was in my parent’s basement.
And more Chinese silk on the piano. The pops of pink are repeated in the floral fabric on the shades and other pillows.
Spring is surely on the way, but it is still pretty bare and brown here. It is definitely looking springy inside, though and I’m hoping to get outside and work in the yard.
I also want to work on this:
This is the footboard for an old iron bed I’m planning to strip rust from but I need good weather. I cannot wait for this to be ready.
Right now, though, I have to fold the rest of the laundry and get a snack ready for the kids who will be home in just a few minutes.
Too much to do and never enough time:-)

I love the color of the pillow and the silk table runner. It goes well with the natural woods in your room.
Anita-What pretty pinks for Spring and I love that table runner. Gorgeous- xo Diana
Wow…what a gorgeous room!
Anita, always loved pinks, the pillows are stunning and accent your new decor style with grace and promise of spring. The buffet and photos are lovely. Never enough time is right…. pretty rainy and overcast here, but no snow! Thanks for posting your latest beautiful projects. Best wishes on iron work frame.
Anita, pink is a great color for spring, specially when it's the hot one! I love your living room. The pillows are simply gorgeous, specially your grandma's, what a treasure to have. Big hugs,
FABBY
Hi Anita – oh my, those pink touches look great! So pretty. Jane
I love your "Spring" pink pillow and runner. Your room certainly exudes the coming of Spring. Now if Mother Nature would just cooperate!
Love your vintage sideboard decor. I always love my Grandma's stuff.
Your pinks could not be more pretty.
Your round pink pillow is amazing. It looks so familiar to me, maybe my mother used to have one. You always find the best stuff in your family's houses!
I just love the old pillow your grandmother made! Your house looks so cozy and the pinks are a pretty spring accent.
Your hot pinks definitely bring your beautiful rooms to life for Spring! Your home looks so welcoming and comfy.

Your pink touches really look like spring.I am ready to get outside too!
Hi, I'm visiting from Savvy Southern Style Wow-Us Wednesday. What a beautiful pillow, and how well the color goes with the other tones in your connected rooms. I was totally smitten, also, by your original pastel drawing. So beautiful. Did you know that the use of pastels is one of the hardest skills to master? I am in awe of people who create works of art using what many people think of as colored chalk! It is so much much more. Your space calls out for people to come on in, sit down a spell, and enjoy the views out of those beautiful French doors. Such a cozy, warm wonderful space. I see myself curling up on that sofa — and how did you manage to get the upholstery of that lovely piece to so perfectly go with your grandmother's wonderful pillow? It's magic!
beautiful! i have two seven foot long pink couches in my living room, but i tell my husband they are a nice faded red color.
Hi Anita! Oh, everything is so gorgeous and I do love the hot pink! My mother has two pillows with this tufting like yours. I bought them for her. Your home is so lovely and I so enjoy seeing it. I want you to know how I'm enjoying the dishes I won from your giveaway. I still pinch myself! π
Be a sweetie,
Shelia π
Your room is gorgeous!! Wouldn't last 5 minutes here with 2 men and 3 big dogs, but I love it!
Janet
My mother-in-law had some wonderful pillows, smocked just the same as the beautiful pillow your grandmother created, though their colors were not as vibrant as the one you inherited. I don't know what happened by my mother-in-laws but wish I did. Such wonderful and treasured objects!
So pretty! My grandmother used to have pillows like those…wish we still had them!
Blessings,
Cindy
Such a gorgeous room with the pink splashed in perfect spots. Thanks for linking up to the party!
Just stunning my friend…
Makes me wish I could curl up on your pretty chair and read a good long book π
