An Apple a day…

It’s apple season here in North Carolina…

Last year I decided to use apples in my fall decor because they are plentiful here and I’m just different that way:-)

You can find any variety you like here. We bought these Rome apples at the Farmer’s Market.

My parents always buy several bushels of different kinds to make apple pies, apple crisps, and just to enjoy sliced with a little salt. I’m dreaming of my mom’s apple pie already. She has perfected my grandmother’s homemade crust.

I LOVE apples what about you?

    Hi Anita,
Coming your way via Savvy Southern Style. You photographs of the bowl of apples are stunning. They look like paintings.
    Thanks so much for sharing.

    Hi Anita,

Gorgeous pics. WELL, I am funny – I absolutely hate apples raw unless I eat them with warm gooey brie cheese. Weird, huh? I think it is the weird texture of them. HOWEVER……….apple crisp, good apple pie with excellent crust, huge fan – I even like brown sugared apples with French Toast, and apple jelly – but not apple butter. (I am a psycho.)

Anyway – glad you enjoy your mom's crust. Yum.

Happy Autumn to you and yours!!

Beautiful photos, Anita. I just ate an apple … wrapped in caramel and nuts. 🙂 My family and I went apple picking recently and I'm going to bake something with them this weekend. Just haven't decided what yet.

Fall definitely = apples. Love them with warm caramel for dipping.

We love apples and live near a large orchard where we go to pick our own. My husband actually grew up on the farm where the orchard is today. Your vignette is so pretty. I really like the colouring in the apples and hydrangeas. Our favourite apple is Cortland for cooking and eating. Blessings, Pam

Simply beautiful photos! My husband loves apple season when, for just a few weeks, he can enjoy his favorite – a very tart Jonathan!

Your pictures are always so beautiful Anita. Your apples reminded me of my Nanny and Pop Pop's house. I can remember going there when I was little and playing in the basement. They had a cellar where they kept apples and to this day I can still smell those apples down there. Thanx for helping me remember my grandparents today!

Beautiful photos of some beautiful apples. I'm a huge apple girl, both in taste and in decorating. You are likely to see a display of apples in more than one room on any given visit. They last and last and last and are so much better than any faux stuff IMO.

Visiting via SSS. I love your apple decor. I am not much for pumpkin so this is a refreshing idea. I am still waiting for apples to get here. We only have Grannies so far, but they made a delish tart.

Your photos are so pretty. I love the look of decorating with apples but have never tried it myself. Will have to try it out.

I love apples and the apple season. My mother had lots if them in her garden this year, but for some reason I had none, but I have pears!
