After all the Christmas decor is taken down, things look kind of sparse. That really gives me a blank slate to change things up a bit…as much as I can here.
My first stop for inspiration online is The Old Painted Cottage. Not only do I *love* Jennifer’s style, her Cottage of the Month series is something I look forward to the first of every month.

She features so many variations of cottage style that I am always blown away when I visit. There are tons of great ideas, eclectic, vintage, retro…and everything in between, so I find myself just browsing then going back again and again to my favorites.
Here are some of my favorites…
Another one I fell in love with isTrixie’s Florida home from April 2011.
Susan’s home in Canton, Ohio from June 2013, is another that I keep going back to…
Of course, one of the biggest highlights of my year was having our home featured in November 2013. You can see last summer’s tour HERE.
If you have never visited Jennifer and her Cottage of the Month series, you are missing out. She also features non-blogger homes, which I find are some of my favorite because they are fresh and new — or old if you like vintage as I do:-)
I’ll be joining:

I too get so excited every time the first of the month comes around. My husband always looks at me like I'm crazy when I say, "It's Cottage of the Month day!" Your house and your ideas absolutely inspire me also. You are so creative and everything you do turns out beautifully. I love the fact that you honor your family through your home.
I too love Jennifer's style and look forward to the Cottage of the Month. Jennifer had a booth in a local antique store in town for awhile and I loved to see how she styled it. She has closed that booth and I miss it.
Thanks for beautiful inspiration shots this morning.
Great inspiration Anita. I can see why you love Jennifer's Cottage of the Month series.
Beautiful. I remember the days when I had to subscribe to a home and garden magazine to get inspiration. Not so now. I have great blogs like Jennifer's and yours to inspire me. Not to mention that up close and personal touch. Thanks, Anita.
Hi Anita, first I would like to thank you for your sweet comment..

Beautiful inspiration Anita…I can see why it's your go to spot!
These are all great but I love your home for inspiration. I think you do an amazing job. I would love for you to link up to my 198th Inspire Me party. – – – astrollthrulife.net/2014/01/198th-inspire-me-tuesday.html Hope to see you there. Hugs Marty
I, too, have been following Jennifer's Cottage of the Month blog for several years. I have even gone way back to past years. She has always been so nice and helpful to answer questions. I have admired the floors in her home and, after hearing from her how much she has enjoyed the floors over the years, I decided to put the exact flooring in an upstairs bathroom. My 16 year old grandson and I were able to install the floors in the small bath with no problems and I have been very pleased. I love the inspiration I get and always get excited to see what the next month's cottage is going to look like. So many lovely places!
Anita, This was so much funn to see these sites. Thx for sharing. I can see why you enjoy these!
Blessings,
d

Beautiful one and all!!
(Of course, I was sidetracked at first because I clicked the link to hear you sing "Down in the Valley to Pray" and had a worship service here by myself first.
When I get to Heaven, I'm going to sing like you.
Anita, this was such a fun look back! I'm so glad you and your readers have enjoyed the Cottage of the Month features I've take such pleasure in creating : )
