I have always loved sparkly chandeliers, but never had one until last year when I sold the fixture I had to buy the one now hanging over mygrand piano. I have since added several more in the kitchen and living room.
When the piano traded places with the dining table, there was no light over the table. Because it was not centered, I decided to hang two smaller candle holders. There is another chandelier centered on the room, not the wall, so I couldn’t center a light fixture over the table even if I wanted to. I also didn’t want to commit to moving a light fixture to this spot either, just in case I didn’t want to leave the table there.
These were very inexpensive ebay finds that started out white…
…then got painted black and accented with vintage French crystals I won in a giveaway.
I really wanted something with a little more sparkle, so I decided to look at wedding supplies and found this one on ebay. I got two for $47.83, with free shipping. Of course they did not stay white.
After removing all the crystals, I painted them black, then brushed on gold for a little more sparkle.
I re-attached all the crystals, then added my vintage french crystals to the center.
I love, love, love them. They are perfect for this spot, and can be removed easily any time. We have recessed lighting in here anyway, so I really don’t need the light, although they look pretty when lit.
I will say the crystals that come on these are acrylic, so I am ordering glass prisms to replace them with, which is also an inexpensive option, but you really can’t tell unless you touch them.
I love the look and it’s a great and non-committal, might I add, way to add light. If you search for “candle chandelier” or “hanging candle holder” on ebay you will find all sorts of options for the same look.
I also wanted to update you all on the photographer situation since some had asked. They had to reschedule because of all the snow we had. They need to shoot the porch, and cannot have snow in the shots. I’m actually glad I have a little more time to tweak things, and maybe my azaleas will be in bloom when they come back this way. In the meantime, there is lots to do!
Thanks for stopping by:-)

It is so pretty. I would love to have one of those in a corner of our bedroom. Thanks for sharing.
How pretty and romantic Anita… Luv them.
these are so elegant looking. love your dining room, it has such a European Farmhouse flair!
Beautiful Anita!!
I just want to kick myself every day for selling all the candle chandeliers I had several years ago when I owned my fine rentals shop. We used them for outdoor decorating. When I sold the inventory, I didn't keep ANY of them. They were so pretty, and because I bought them wholesale, they were relatively inexpensive. I had four different styles. What was I thinking?!??!??!?! I think I was just so sick of seeing all that stuff and wanted it g-o-n-e!!!
This is beautiful, Anita! Well done! Applause to you for actually dismantling and painting those!!!
Beautiful, Anita!! Love them!
They look beautiful Anita!!
Gorgeous Anita. I would love for you to share on my Chic By You Wednesday Party. Hope to see you there. ChicByTab
I love the chandeliers and the crystals, Anita — you did a great job with the makeovers. I need to do something to my chandy, but I can't decide what I want to do at the moment. đŸ™‚
