Organic Fall decorating ideas for indoors…

Even though it’s hot and not remotely fall here in the North Carolina mountains, I thought I would give y’all some ideas for fall decorating indoors using organic and natural elements.

I like to bring the outside in as I like for the inside to reflect what is going on outside, so I take my cues from nature.

I LOVE apples, which are abundant this time of year here, and find they are a great option for fall, plus you can eat them when you’re through using them as decor:-)

I used apples last year on the kitchen shelves along with some vintage apple needlepoints.

I love the pop of red.

Of course pumpkins just shout fall, and if you don’t want orange, you can buy white ones or paint them like I did here. I just used craft paint then went back with a smaller brush and a darker color in the grooves for detail.

I also love using dried hydrangeas and pine cones for fall.

Last year, because I was using pink, I just brought in the vanilla-strawberry hydrangeas and they dried beautifully. Turkey feathers are also usually abundant here in the fall.

I have always brought in branches of leaves as they change. They don’t last long, though, even in water.

White pumpkins and Japanese maple leaves along with leaves cut from old music make a unique  statement on an old chestnut board.

Apples, old silver and dried hydrangeas on the old board again for yet another unique fall look.

For Thanksgiving I changed the apples for pumpkins and added greenery as well as more hydrangeas.

Of course you can’t go wrong with pumpkins, gourds, candles and a long box:-)

I fill my box with a layer of floral foam then use floral picks to secure the pumpkins in the position I want them.

I think I might be getting my box out again. I didn’t use it at all last year.

I hope I’ve given you some unique ideas for bring fall into your home with natural and organic elements that are readily available.

I won’t be doing anything inside until it looks a little more like fall outside:-)

You are inspiring me to bring out my dried hydrangeas from last year…I am so glad I saved them as my large bush did not produce any blooms…just my "little one"….I so love all of your gorgeous centerpieces!!…they exude such warmth and glow!..

These are such beautiful vignettes! I kind of like that they are decidedly not orange. Not that I don't appreciate the typical pumpkin colors, but for early fall I like the choice of apples or white pumpkins mixed with the still available greenery. You have such a nice eye for composition as well. I love the centerpieces on the long board, but my favorite is the one with the crystal drop candelabra and the sheet music wall hanging. So lovely!!
