Last week after I took the photos of Bonnie’s beautiful sunflowers in my music space, I decided to restyle the corner cabinet behind the piano for Fall.
I thought the blue transferware was a little busy and looked too “china cabinet” like, so I took everything out and started with all white.
Ha, you say, knowing me. That honestly lasted about two minutes. It was so stark and in contrast with all the color I have, so I had to spice it up a little.
I started by adding some texture with old books and color from vanilla-strawberry hydrangeas.
I also added silver pieces and that did help to make everything blend in a little better with the rest of my decor.
Instead of the silver punch goblets, I decided to use the white cups from my Italian pot de creme set, and I like how they lighten things up instead of soaking up the light as the silver can sometimes do.
I lived with it this way for a couple days.
Then I realized it still didn’t have enough color for me, so I decided to add more starting with some iridescent orange carnival glass, then blue and white, and, well, you can guess how that went.
I’ll show you how it came out tomorrow:-)
I’ll be joining:
This looks so pretty, Anita. I would never be able to pass by it without taking it all in. Love the little creamer with the feet. π Deb
Thank you Deb:-)
I love all your silver pieces Anita. Beautiful vignettes you've created. Lovely white pieces around the tray.

Gorgeous Anita…and I love that you continued with the pinks in your Fall decor…loved them in your summer decor!…
Thanks Shirley!! I'm looking forward to adding the orange shades along with the pink too:-)
Can't wait to see it!
Thanks Arell! It's up now if you go back to the HOME page.
Beautiful, Anita. Love the mix of silver and white ceramics. Those little covered pots are adorable. Who makes them?
Thanks Sarah! I really don't know about the pot de creme set. It was made in Italy and pretty old, but came from a relative. If you google "pot de creme set" you might can find out more:-)
I love how you add keepsakes with the dishes, makes it more interesting. I wish I had Autumnal dishes during the Fall season. Looking forward to your next post. Kathleen in Az
Thank you Kathleen! I like to add those in also for something different. If you don't have autumn dishes, try a fall napkin maybe:-)
I love it! You always end up adding color and I always end up loving the result π

I'm not sure how you could improve on the styling you've already finished, but I do know that we bloggers have the "tweak gene" and simply cannot help ourselves! Really, I do love your blend of silver and white, and the pops of color in those hydrangeas is just the frosting!
