I love Fall. I just cannot wait for it every year. This year, it seemed to take forever — as if the leaves were *never* going to change. Then, overnight, the color seemed to come from nowhere — more brilliant than I have ever seen here.
However, with the beautiful color, also came rain, and lots of it.

And when rain comes, the leaves go. But rain or shine, it has been beautiful and one of the most colorful seasons I’ve seen.

I had been waiting to add some fall decor to the front porch until the leaves changed, and just about missed it entirely. Let’s just say I was holding an umbrella over the camera as I shot these photos today, while the wind and rain were taking down the leaves:-)
I am always inspired by nature and use lots of natural, organic elements in my decorating inside and out. I cut my corn stalks out of my parents’ garden a few weeks ago and took my cues for color right from the back yard.
I picked up this fabric at Walmart a month or so ago and knew it would be perfect to bring everything together and add a fun, modern touch to the porch.
I made bows with the fabric and burlap then attached them to my cornstalks.
I borrowed a pot of mums from my mom then remembered these pots my parents had brought me from Santa Fe years ago, so out they came to add a little color.
I put a couple of pumpkins into some outdoor planters I had and pretty much called it a day.
I have to enjoy it while it’s here, because it will all be gone in the blink of an eye.
But while it’s here, it is truly amazing.
Like I always say — it’s the little things:-)
I’ll be joining:

Beautiful Anita! I was in Asheville a few days ago and saw some beautiful color. Now living in Greenville, SC our leaves are just beginning to change. We have rain today as well, but I hope to get out and drive in the next couple of days to see how the leaves are here in my new state.
