Since it’s March, I thought I better show y’all my winter mantel before it gets a spring makeover.
For me, everything comes down to finding that perfect element to bring everything together. Yesterday, I remembered the rose paper weight that belonged to my grandmother, and that was the crowning touch for my mantel.
I remember this in her house and always loved it. My mom had given it to my daughter, and I searched her room to find it while she was at school. Don’t tell her:-)
I love how the delicate look gives a feminine touch to the mantel.
I added a pot of succulents, old brass candlesticks, and an original painting from a relative.
The hanging plate is from a trip to Bolivia, and I electrified the hanging lantern from Turkey all by myself:-)
I love this mid-century modern style chair I bought on sale at Overstock after Christmas. I wanted something with clean mcm lines in this space and added the throw and a kilim pillow from the Kilim Pillow Store.
It has a lot of different textures and elements, but I think the look is pretty clean and simple.
Simple for me anyway:-)
