I had the opportunity to go up Saturday to Balsam Mountain Preserve and shoot some photos at the main security gate. This is obviously not your everyday security gate:-)
I grabbed some things from home to make all the browns a little more inviting and homey.
I had already added a few pumpkins to the mantel, but nothing else, so it was really bare.
I brought some fur throws, kilim pillows and new velvet pillows I found at World Market.
I made the black and white print pillows with fabric I ordered from Spoonflower.
I brought a fern from home to add some green. I’m a big fan of using green in the fall to really enhance the warm, rusty tones.
I brought one of my grandfather’s vintage vinegar jugs and added some clipped sourwood branches.
I also added some candles in different sizes to the mantel.
My 14 year old helped me with styling, and after we left there, we went by the stables and saw this guy.
Then we joined Luis for a ride around the golf course in a golf cart.
Honestly, this was a crazy amount of fall goodness all in one day:-)
I’ll be joining:

One of the most beautiful outdoor rooms I've seen. Just looking at these gorgeous pictures makes me feel excited for the season and grateful for it.
This is so gorgeous! I love the stone fireplace and rustic 'twig' furniture. The oranges really pop against the neutral brown backdrop. The last photo of the sunset is stunning! It all looks so amazing Anita.
