First, I have to extend my heartfelt thanks to those of you who left such encouraging and inspiring comments on my last post about the ups and downs of blogging. As always, you all inspire me and make me feel like I’m doing something right here. Thank you so much for that:-)
Now on to some more of the design work I have been fortunate to do at Balsam Mountain Preserve. They hosted a fish fry last Friday, so I tweaked a few things outside and added some fall goodness inside.
I suggested the Balsam Hill Crossbar Lanterns for the steps, and was so happy they agreed and purchased. What a difference that made. They look wonderful at night with the battery-powered candles on, and I was pleased they are so heavy and well made. I had lots of Indian corn leftover so I attached that to the tops with some extra bows I had made.
Inside, I got to dress up this table behind the buffet table. I used an extra Crossbar Lantern here as well, then just filled in with Collard greens as a base, kale, pumpkins, eggplant, artichokes and Indian corn. I was surprised the kale lasted much longer than I had expected and really didn’t get too wilted.
Here are just a few interior shots of this room. I casually arranged simple bouquets for each table consisting of zinnias, parsley, and three different kinds of sage including pineapple sage.
As you can see, this is a beautiful place so it doesn’t need much:-)
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that there is a gorgeous sunset almost every night.
I am really enjoying getting to add my touch on things here and am currently sourcing place settings to replace the ones they have. Now — you all *know* that is right up my alley, and that I am right in my element and loving every minute of it:-)

You did such a magnificent job at the Balsam Mountain Preserve. I am sure all of the guests were wowed at the beautiful Fall decor that you have so wonderfully done. Those views are breathtaking…Can't imagine dining with those amazing views. Is this a neighborhood meeting area/club?
Thanks Shirley! Yes, this is the "Boarding House" which has a small restaurant, and there are cabins close for guests. It is a beautiful place for sure, and I'm sure enjoying getting to do this work there:-)
Beautiful display of Autumnal bounty and you are the perfect stylist for the Preserve. You respect nature and the history that surrounds it. Have a wonderful evening, Kathleen in Az
