Last weekend I had the opportunity to create flower arrangements for the Valentine’s Dinner at Balsam Mountain Preserve.
This is the arrangement I made for the owner after the dinner was over.
The dinner was held at the Boarding House, which is all wood and glass. The Food and Beverage manager picked a dusty rose colored napkin, so I knew I needed to combine some different and brighter colors to keep things interesting. I decided to go with shades of pink, orange with green and yellow.
I found the beautiful hot pink roses, daisies and the fillers at the shop a friend owns here in Waynesville, Four Seasons Florist. Everything else, I picked up between Trader Joe’s and Walmart.
I used my silver punch cups for the smaller arrangements.
For the two larger tables, I used vintage silver teapots.
Everything looked beautiful in this gorgeous room with soft candle light.
It was a beautiful evening, and I was so happy with how everything turned out. I can also say, a week later, the florist roses are still gorgeous, and all the others have wilted. You definitely get what you pay for, which is something to consider if you need your flowers to last more than a couple days. If you are in the western North Carolina area, I also highly recommend Four seasons Florist.
I’m looking forward to more design work for special events at Balsam Mountain Preserve and the opportunity to be creative in such a beautiful place.
I’ll be joining:
Just gorgeous. I love the colors and the arrangements. Thankful I ended up with a beautiful arrangement after the banquet also
Lucky mom! The flowers are pretty, especially the orange roses. The silver cups and teapots add a touch of elegance. A beautiful Valentine dinner.

How so very beautiful!!!…I am sure the owner was ecstatic over their arrangement that you made for them…it must have indeed been a magical and romantic night!
What a beautiful, rustic setting? Your frilly flowers are gorgeous, and your table is so soft and pretty against the rustic texture of your setting. Glad to hear you're still enjoying the flowers now that the event/stress is over. 🙂
Everything is gorgeous! Roses are my favorite. I am very intrigued by the napkin fold. Where can one learn how to fold a napkin like this? Thanks in advance.
