Franciscan Ivy on the back porch

It has taken a lot longer to get the porches in summer shape this year, but now that the hard work is done, I have certainly been enjoying them every morning. I honestly cannot wait to wake up, grab a cup of coffee and head out on the porch to listen to the birds and creek.

I thought I’d set a lunch table with my Franciscan Ivy because the green is just so perfect out on the porch. This is such a versatile pattern that goes with just about anything, and I knew it would be fabulous with this vintage silk sari as a tablecloth.

Since we use cloth napkins for everyday, I found these on amazon to add to my stash. I like cotton napkins that wash well, and loved the colorful look to these.

I’ve made some other easy but deliberate changes to the colors on the porches and will share those later.

For now, though, I’m pouring myself another cup of coffee:-)

If you missed my summer home tour, you can see it HERE.

I’d also love to have you follow on instagram:-)

But because I’m wondering if anyone is still here reading, would you be kind enough to leave a comment and let me know you’re still here? If people are not here reading, then it doesn’t make much sense for me to put the amount of work into the photography and posting, so please let me know:-)

I LOVE your blog. As one of the very few who have color in their decor, you are a breath of fresh air! I'm so over everything white and light and bright, shades of grey and white, and a red pillow on the couch. THANK YOU for your mixed patterns and old family pieces that you add seamlessly to your home. You truly have a gift for photography as well. Blog on, and WOW us with your bright happy colors. Marie

Love those orange pillows! That's exactly what I need on my deck furniture which has neutral cushions. And your table is lovely!

Thank you so much Lisa!! I made those out of a vintage sari I had because I wanted some color, but something that would still be ok with the black floral, and that fabric just clicked with me:-) I sprayed on the outdoor fabric treatment to keep them from mildew or fading.

Beautiful table. Fransiscan Ivy was my mother's "everyday" china, I still have a few pieces of it. It looks so pretty against that bright tablecloth! Enjoy.

I love all the color!! Your table looks bright and cheerful with a ht of bohemian vibe to it! Your ivy dishes look great on your porch setting with the hanging ivy complimenting it. I tend to use more color than most people in blog land these days so it is refreshing to see more color!

Yet another lover of color and individual style here! Love the Franciscan ware on your patio; our family variously have the apple and rose patterns that make our hearts sing.

Yes, my mother has the apple, and she had Desert Rose, but gave it to my sister in law, and I pieced a set together several years ago. I like to combine Rose and Ivy:-)
