Hello friends! Back in 2012 I decided to open up a shop on etsy called Knight’s Store named after my grandfather’s store here. I was mostly selling wood boxes we made as well as table runners, etc., but found myself with not a lot of time for sewing and building as I was a busy mom with my three babies at home as well as a worship leader/minister of music with a busy community ministry. Two of my baby birds have flown the coop to college 😭😭😭 so I tell my 14-year-old son, I’m putting all my love into him. Bless his heart😁😁
I was missing my daughters so much this fall, I decided help fill the void by making things for the shop again and stocked it with mostly made-by-me original Christmas items. Now that Christmas is over, I’m thinking spring, summer and beyond, and excited about designing and adding more country-farmhouse style original items.
One of my favorite new things is this ticking stripe wrap-tie apron.
These are so cute and functional, and the options for fabric combinations are endless.
I used a coordinating fabric for the pocket and just love the cute farmhouse style it has.
I also made a red one, but it sold last fall.
Another fun thing I did was accent with yarn. This stripe half-apron has yarn accenting the waistband and the gathered pocket.
I couldn’t resist red gingham trim as well.
I also used some bolder colors and paired this black floral with a yellow/black dot.
A little green and white gingham was perfect for this one with vintage daisy trim on the pocket.
This has been a favorite since I made it with muslin and a vintage tulle peplum I found in my grandmother’s things.
While I still have some aprons and Christmas things in the shop, I’m thinking about what else to add. I hope to add some vintage and antique finds, and possibly some linens. Several people had messaged me about the ticking pillow shams, so that’s a possibility as well.
I’m excited to get started and especially excited since my mother gave me a new serger for Christmas. My old Bernina had run many miles and sewn thousands of garments, etc., over the years and was on its last leg. I’m excited to have this new Juki up and running.
You can visit the Knight’s Store to see what I currently have listed.
What are some new things you would like to see there? Just let me know in the comments☺️
Also, if you are a subscriber, apparently since I migrated over to WordPress, email notifications have not been going out. I’m still working on the issue to get it resolved. Please follow along on my social so you’ll have another option to get updates for new posts as well☺️
Hi there, thanks for visiting my blog. I love your style! I think your aprons are wonderful and remind me of my beloved grandma in Oklahoma, she always had on a house dress and an apron. We’re in a snowstorm, I hope you and yours are well! ((hugs)), Teresa 🙂

Thank you so much Teresa☺️☺️ You gave me an idea to maybe make some house dress/apron combos☺️☺️
This is my first time stopping by – the name “Whispering Pines” grabbed my attention – so I wanted to read! We have a pine outside our backdoor and love the sound it makes when the wind blows and was considering calling our small home “Whispering Pine Cottage”. : ) Anyway……..I love your blog! The photo of the cinnamon rolls makes me want to make them today since it’s SO cold outside!! And – I LOVE your aprons. I want each and every one of them. SO pretty. : ) Have a good day and thanks for sharing. Mary S.
