Hello everyone! Things get so busy here in the spring with clean up from winter then, of course, the garden, so I try to finish up any indoor projects so I can concentrate on the garden, and this one has been a few weeks in the making.
This is a project I’m sooooo very happy with – and one I really took a chance on. I love pink and always have. In fact, in every house I’ve lived where I could paint, I’ve had a pink room of some sort. My grandmother loved pink as well, so I’m sure I inherited that from her.
In this house, the girls’ room was pink for a few years as well as both bathrooms. The hall bath is still a pale/peachy pink, and the kitchen was pink in the beginning of 2020. I kept pinning images on pinterest of rooms in different shades of pink and decided I really wanted to try a shade in my living room. It was not easy to find the right shade, and I actually painted the room twice because the first color, although gorgeous on the mantel wall, was too orange on the opposite wall – especially at night. I finally settled on HGTV Home Sherwin Williams “Coral Rose” and had it mixed in Valspar Express Coat (flat), which is in my opinion excellent paint – especially for the $15.98 per gallon price tag. I’ve used it several times lately, and the coverage has been excellent plus it seems to have no odor as well. I’m so very happy I took the chance to try something different, but the room feels so warm and happy it makes me smile just to be in it.
So let’s take a look at the room in all its pink glory:-)
I love the warmth of this shade and how well it works with the reds in this room.
On this wall, it definitely has more of a coral feel, which I love. Mother let me borrow these antique inherited rose prints, and I’m enjoying them before I have to give them back:-)
Of course, one reason I love this Kaufmann “Queensland” fabric in Crimson, is because it has so many color options. It goes with everything.
I also decided to try great grandmother’s chaise in this position, and I cannot express how much I love it here! I’m definitely using it more and love that it’s not against the windows.
Love how my “Gilmore Girls” lampshade looks with this color too.
This corner is especially lovely, and the 1800s oil lamp just glows against this color.
I have also enjoyed blooms from daddy’s snowball bush for more than a month. It seemed to last forever, and was the perfect organic accent with these new colors.
I absolutely love how this room turned out, and I’m even looking forward to add fall colors when that season arrives. I tried out many of the fall pillow covers. etc., with the color before I ever painted, so I’m excited for that color combination.
I always tell people to try something different and think outside the box because you might be really surprised how the thing you thought wouldn’t work turns into the perfect look:-) It certainly did in this case.
I have a new video showing the process as well as both colors I used, so be sure to check that out, and “Like” and Subscribe to my channel.

Oh how I have waited for your next decor video! Roses are my favorite flower so my favorite colors are red, and pink with touches of blue and gold. This room is stunning! My bedroom is Victorian style and all in pinks with lace curtains and blue and gold accents. I think you would love it. Tho most people say…..how does your hubby like sleeping in a pink room? He loves it. Actually pink is a very relaxing and peaceful color and much underrated.. I adore your style and will watch this posting over and over for its inspiration. Thanks for bringing us such personal and unique style. Love from Lin your sister in Christ 💜

Thank you so much Deb☺️☺️☺️
Oh WOW from pages of a magazine!! You nailed it!! Best color ever, Anita!!! I always love seeing that color when I see it in shows like Father Brown in the English mansions. Makes everything in the room pop!! Can’t wait to see the room decked for the holidays in that color. Your dad’s snowball plants look amazing against the walls too!! So very cozy and warm!! Also, your video was very helpful bc that color is tough to figure out! I wanted that color in my dining room and it ended up closer to salmon. Lived with it for several years until the room got a refresh! I, too, love color, keeps things interesting! Will we see pics of your porch this year?

Linda thank you so very much for those kind and encouraging words☺️☺️☺️ Yes I’ll definitely be sharing the porch because I changed some fabrics, etc. I have a summer tour on June 5, and I’ll probably show a sneak peek then and do a whole post after that☺️☺️
Oooh, this has turned out gorgeous ! Pinks can be hard to get right, this is deep and rich and looks wonderful with all your beautiful furniture. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t like pink! But we do live with a gorgeous Farrow and Ball Oval Blue (inspired originally from your blue kitchen from a few years ago) and I accent this with pink in the summer.
I fell in love with your incredible style from the moment I first came across your blog, I’m also naturally nostalgic. Firstly just reading and looking at the photographs was a healing process for me after burn-out, and that continues as my own home has been/ is being transformed by colour.
I can’t connect emotionally with the white / beige / blue patterned homes at all, however “perfect” they look, and would never go back to living in a home without glorious color wrapping around.
I’m also always impressed by how you organize not a huge space – it’s so cosy but always interesting. I like your whole house tours best, seeing how your kitchen, dining, music and living space all flow together.
Going to look at the video now! Many blessings.

Thank you so much Vicky!! I’m so happy I have the blue back in my kitchen, and like you love to accessorize that with pink in the summer☺️☺️ I have a summer tour coming up June 5 as part of a larger group of ladies☺️☺️
This room is the most wonderfully moody and cozy room I have ever seen. I liked it before but now with the rose color it looks COMPLETE. Ascended to perfection.
