Decorating the Fall Porch using what I have

Hello friends! First, I cannot thank all of you enough for your prayers, encouragement and donations to help our friends and neighbors here in WNC on my last video and post. There are some amazing people who continue to work alongside people here, and will be here for the long haul. I’ll keep linking for those who want to help because as supplies, clothes and food is plentiful, the hard work of repairing and creating infrastructure, homes, buildings, etc., will take years.

I had started my fall porches way before the storm, and wanted to enjoy that bit of pretty as we’ve tracked a lot of mud and dust on them over the last few weeks, so I got the water hose and a broom and scrubbed what I could. I used what I had — some things I grew in the garden, pillow covers I made last summer, and i gathered wildflowers, marigolds and leaves. I hope you’re inspired to find the beauty in every little corner you can and see just how much that helps when dealing with what life throws out:-)

I had so many large gourds this year, so I thought they would be perfect for the steps with the pumpkins:-)

We still have a lot of dust since the driveway washed, so I’m not pretending that I can keep any of this clean!!

I cleaned up the back porch last summer and never showed it. It’s been a few years since I shared this area because it can become a catch-all for produce from the garden, boots, etc.

I made pillow covers from some fabric I had here, and thought it would be the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee this season.

The doors came from the old school my daddy went to here, so when they were getting rid of them, I volunteered to keep them. Not sure what I’ll do with them yet.

This has been the sweetest thing to see looking out the laundry room door. I usually have a mess here, but I moved the bench Luis made years ago and added some pumpkins and a mum I bought back a few weeks ago.

It seems like fall just appeared out of nowhere. It’s so beautiful, and only lasts for a few days, but the beauty of it absolutely fills my heart and soul with joy!!

I’m going to embrace and appreciate every, single moment and every ray of sunshine this season.

There is a new video on my channel:

“If I were a bird, I would fly about the Earth seeking the successive autumns.”

Thanks so much for stopping by friends!! You are appreciated and cherished!!

Just the bright spot so needed at this time! Absolutely gorgeous. Don’t you dare stay inside! Thinking of all of you every single day as the chain saws buzz and the trucks roll.

Every image is a feast for the eyes….beautiful setting, beautiful photography! Very inspiring to yes, use what we have! I am having trouble with deer and racoons eating the corn in our decor. How do you keep that beautiful Indian corn from being eaten?
